Convert St.George Bank statements to Excel or CSV
St.George keeps up to seven years of eStatements in Internet Banking and the St.George App, while its CSV and QIF export covers transaction history only. Download the eStatement PDFs and BankConv will convert them to Excel, CSV or Google Sheets. Transaction dates print without a year, so check rows on statements that cross 1 January or 1 July.

Do you need to convert at all?
St.George Internet Banking usually lets you export transaction history for a date range, with spreadsheet and money-software formats such as CSV and QIF.
The export covers transaction history only, from Internet Banking on a computer. Statements, up to seven years back, are PDF only.

What to know about St.George Bank PDFs
- Dates without a year
- Transaction dates usually print as day and short month (for example 03 Sep). The year comes from the statement period, so check rows on a statement that crosses 1 January or 1 July.
- Debit and credit columns, no signs
- Money out sits under Debit and money in under Credit, both as positive numbers. Keep the two columns, or make one signed Amount column (credit minus debit) for software that needs it.
- Opening and closing balance lines
- The transaction table usually starts with an opening balance and ends with a closing balance. Leave them out when you sum debits and credits, then use them to check the totals.
How to get St.George statements into Excel
You have two routes. The export is fine for recent activity; the eStatements cover everything up to seven years back.
- Recent activity: in Internet Banking on a computer, open the account’s transaction history, choose a date range and look for the export option. Pick CSV.
- Past statements: download the PDF eStatements, upload them to BankConv and export Excel or CSV.
Use the eStatements when an accountant or lender asks for full statements. They show the opening and closing balances, which a transaction export doesn’t.
What to check after converting
Before you import a converted St.George eStatement (usually a text-based PDF), check these:
- Totals: compare total debits and credits with the statement summary.
- Closing balance: the last balance should match the closing balance on the PDF.
- Dates: set your spreadsheet to DD/MM before you import, or 03/04 may become 4 March.
St.George is part of the Westpac group; the Westpac statement guide covers a similar layout. For Xero, see how to import a bank statement into Xero. For other banks, see Australian bank statements.
