Changelog

What changed in BankConv, newest first. Each entry says what you can now do and who it helps.

  1. Automate statement conversion with the BankConv API

Teams can now connect BankConv to internal tools, client portals, finance workflows, and product integrations through the API.

The BankConv API is now available for teams that need bank statement conversion inside another product or internal process.

It is built for accounting firms, fintech teams, lending operations, bookkeeping services, and finance teams that handle statement PDFs at scale.

    What you can do

    • Upload bank statement PDFs programmatically
    • Convert password-protected statements
    • Check conversion progress
    • Download completed results as structured data or CSV
    • Track credits and usage for your team
    • Create and manage API keys from Team Settings

The API makes BankConv useful beyond the dashboard: client portals, internal review queues and document intake workflows can now send statements directly to BankConv.

See the API documentation to start building.

  2. Better extraction for real-world bank statements

BankConv now handles more of the messy details that show up in real statements, including multi-page tables, wrapped descriptions, and inconsistent date formats.

Bank statements are rarely perfect. Descriptions wrap onto multiple lines, tables change from page to page, account summaries sit next to transactions, and dates vary by country.

We improved BankConv’s handling of those real-world cases so more statements convert cleanly the first time.

    Improvements you may notice

    • Multi-page statements are easier to review as one complete document
    • Long or wrapped transaction descriptions are kept together more reliably
    • Dates and statement ranges are interpreted more consistently
    • Messy table headers and account summaries are easier to separate from transactions

The goal is simple: fewer manual cleanups after conversion and more spreadsheet-ready files.

  3. Review cleaner results with merged transaction tables

Conversion results now make it easier to review the PDF, scan extracted transactions, and switch between merged and page-by-page views.

Reviewing statement results is now much easier.

Instead of making you inspect every table one page at a time, BankConv can group matching statement tables into a cleaner transaction view. You can still switch back to the original page-by-page view whenever you want to compare the extraction against the source PDF.

    What changed

    • See extracted transactions in a merged view
    • Switch between merged results and page-by-page results
    • Open the PDF viewer while reviewing extracted data
    • Follow all processed pages in one workspace
    • Export once the document is unlocked or covered by your plan

This is especially helpful for longer statements where transactions span several pages.

  4. Unlock a single document without a subscription

You can now preview a statement for free and unlock the full document with a one-time payment, no monthly plan required.

Not every customer needs a subscription. Sometimes you just have one statement to convert.

BankConv now lets you upload a document, preview the free pages, and unlock the full file with a one-time payment if the result looks good.

    How it works

    1. Upload your bank statement PDF
    2. Review the free preview pages
    3. Unlock the full document if you need every page
    4. Export the result to the format you want

Subscriptions are still available for regular or high-volume use, but one-time unlocks make BankConv easier to use for occasional documents, one-off client requests, and quick bookkeeping jobs.

  5. Collaborate with team workspaces

Invite teammates, share document work, manage billing, control retention, and keep conversions organized by workspace.

Teams can now manage statement conversion together from a shared workspace.

This is useful for accounting firms, bookkeeping teams, finance departments, and founders who work with accountants or operations staff.

    What teams can do

    • Invite teammates to collaborate
    • Switch between personal and shared workspaces
    • Keep conversions organized under the right team
    • Manage billing from the team account
    • Control how long converted documents are retained
    • Create API keys for team workflows

Team workspaces make BankConv feel less like a single-user utility and more like a shared document processing tool for the people who handle financial data together.

  6. Convert password protected bank statements

Upload encrypted bank statement PDFs and enter the password during conversion so protected files can be processed securely.

Many banks send statements as password-protected PDFs. BankConv can now handle those files directly during upload.

When a PDF is protected, enter the password before conversion. BankConv unlocks the document for processing and then converts it into the spreadsheet format you need.

    Why this matters

    • No need to manually remove the password before uploading
    • Works with the same CSV, Excel, and Google Sheets workflows
    • Keeps protected bank statements in the normal conversion flow
    • Helps accountants and bookkeepers process client statements faster

This is especially useful for banks that protect monthly statements by default.

  7. Upload up to 10 statements at once

Upload and convert up to 10 bank statement PDFs at once, with each file processed as its own document.

BankConv supports uploading multiple bank statement PDFs together, so you do not have to start each conversion one by one.

You can upload up to 10 PDF files at once, with each PDF up to 30 MB. Each statement is processed as its own conversion, so you can review and export the results separately.

    How it works

    1. Upload up to 10 PDF statements
    2. Unlock any password-protected files if needed
    3. Select the files you want to convert
    4. Start the batch and review each completed document

This is useful for month-end bookkeeping, client statement batches, and anyone cleaning up several months of financial records at the same time.
