Convert PNC Bank statements to Excel or CSV

PNC keeps checking and savings statements online for up to 7 years in Statements and Documents, while its CSV activity download only reaches recent transactions. BankConv turns those PDFs into Excel, CSV or Google Sheets. Expect rows grouped into additions and deductions and, with Virtual Wallet, several accounts in one statement.

What to know about PNC Bank PDFs

Activity grouped into additions and deductions
PNC checking statements usually split activity into Deposits and Other Additions and Checks and Other Deductions, with smaller headings inside each, and a separate Daily Balance Detail table. Rows come out grouped by section, so sort by date for one chronological list.
Virtual Wallet covers several accounts
A Virtual Wallet statement usually covers Spend, Reserve and Growth in one PDF, each with its own activity section. Check which account each row belongs to, and watch for transfers between them that show up twice.
Dates without a year
Dates usually print as 09/02 with no year, so the year has to come from the statement period. Rows on a statement that runs from December into January need a second look.

PNC statements are usually text-based PDFs with clear section headings, which helps the conversion. The main thing to watch is how sections and Virtual Wallet accounts are laid out.

How to get PNC transactions as CSV

PNC’s activity download covers recent transactions; for older months, convert the PDF statements.

  1. Recent activity: open the account in PNC Online Banking and look for a download or export option above the transaction list. Choose CSV.
  2. Older months: go to Statements and Documents, save each monthly PDF, upload them to BankConv (up to 10 at a time), and export CSV or Excel.

The PDF route also suits lenders and accountants, because it includes the opening and closing balance.

What to check after converting

Use the totals PNC prints to confirm the result yourself.

  • Section totals: add the additions and the deductions, and compare each with the balance summary at the top of the account section.
  • Daily Balance Detail: pick two or three dates and confirm your running total matches.
  • Accounts: on Virtual Wallet statements, confirm each row sits under the right account.

PNC Bank statement questions

How far back can I get PNC statements online?

PNC says checking and savings statements stay online for up to 7 years, and credit cards for up to 4 years. History may not be available for closed accounts.

Can I export PNC transactions to CSV?

For recent activity, PNC Online Banking usually offers a CSV download. For older months, download the PDF statements and convert them in BankConv to get CSV or Excel.

Why do transfers appear twice in my Virtual Wallet export?

A transfer from Spend to Reserve is a deduction in one account and an addition in the other, and the statement shows both. Remove one side if you only track the combined balance.
