Convert Mercury statements to Excel or CSV

If you can log in to Mercury, its dashboard already exports transactions as CSV, so start there. If you only have the PDF statement, for example one sent by a client or requested by a lender, upload it to BankConv to get each transaction as a row with date, description, amount and balance in Excel, CSV or Google Sheets.

Updated

Download your Mercury statement

  1. 1.Log in to Mercury on the web.
  2. 2.Open Documents & Data from the organization menu, or open an account and choose View Statements.
  3. 3.Select the monthly statements you need and download them.
  4. 4.Upload the PDFs to BankConv, up to 10 in one batch.

Do you need to convert at all?

Mercury's web dashboard exports transactions as CSV from the Transactions page, and its statements area offers CSV files formatted for QuickBooks or NetSuite.

Exports need access to the Mercury dashboard. If you only have the PDF statement, convert it.

What to know about Mercury PDFs

Mercury is not the bank
Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Its deposit accounts are held at partner banks (Mercury names Choice Financial Group and Column N.A.), so a statement or bank letter may mention one of them. When a lender asks which bank holds the account, check the statement rather than assuming.
Each account has its own statement
Checking, savings and Treasury get separate statements, generated at the start of each month. Mercury also offers custom statements for part of the current month. Convert each account's PDF and label rows by account before combining.
Dates can follow UTC
Mercury may record transaction dates in UTC, so a payment made late in the evening US time can show on the next day. Allow for that when you match rows with invoices or your accounting software.

Mercury is built for startups and online businesses, and its dashboard already exports CSV. The PDF route matters when the person doing the books doesn’t have that access.

When to convert a Mercury PDF

Use Mercury’s own export when you can log in. Convert the PDF when you only have the statement.

  • Dashboard access: on the Transactions page, export all transactions or filter first, then download the CSV. For bookkeeping, the statements area offers a QuickBooks or NetSuite CSV per statement.
  • PDF only: accountants, lenders and investors often receive Mercury statements as PDFs. Upload them to BankConv (up to 10 at a time) and export CSV or Excel.

What to check after converting

Mercury statements are clean, digital PDFs, so they convert well. Still, check these before you import:

  • Balance: the last balance should match the ending balance on the statement.
  • Accounts: keep checking, savings and Treasury rows apart, and remove transfers between them if you combine accounts.
  • Dates: match a few late-evening transactions against your records, in case of UTC dates.

For QuickBooks, see importing into QuickBooks. For other US banks, see the US bank guides.
