Convert Desjardins statements to Excel or CSV

Desjardins statements often come in French (relevé de compte) with comma decimals, and you download them as PDFs from the Statements tab in AccèsD on a web browser. Upload the French or English PDF to BankConv to export withdrawals, deposits and balance to Excel, CSV or Google Sheets.

AccèsD can usually give you account transactions as a CSV file for spreadsheet or database software. Business members using AccèsD Affaires have their own CSV reports.

The CSV covers transactions, not the formatted statement, and its layout depends on the service you use. Statements are available from the first day of the month and stay retrievable for 7 years, as PDF.

What to know about Desjardins PDFs

Many statements are in French
If your AccèsD profile is set to French, the relevé de compte shows French headings such as Retrait, Dépôt and Solde, and amounts with a comma for decimals and a space for thousands (1 875,30). Open the CSV with a French (Canada) locale, or check that amounts came out as numbers before you sum them.
Several accounts on one statement
A Desjardins statement often covers more than one account or product in your file, each with its own table. Check which account each block of rows belongs to, and filter to one account before you import.
Dates without a year
Dates usually look like 3 sept, with no year. Take the year from the statement period, and check December–January statements row by row before you sort.

Converting a Desjardins statement

Desjardins statements are usually text-based PDFs, in English or French depending on your profile language. Each transaction line becomes one row, and French headings and comma-decimal amounts are kept as they appear.

  1. Download the monthly PDFs from the Statements tab in AccèsD.
  2. Upload them to BankConv, up to 10 at a time.
  3. Check the rows, then export Excel or CSV.

What to check before you import

Each account block shows a previous balance and a new balance. Use them to check the result yourself, one account at a time.

  • Account: filter the rows to the account you’re importing.
  • Balance: previous balance + deposits − withdrawals should equal the new balance. With a previous balance of 3 150,00, the sample rows above end at 5 056,73.
  • Numbers: confirm every amount is a number, not text.
  • Year: add the year to each date from the statement period.

Some other banks, such as RBC, also print French statements for French-language profiles.

To bring the rows into QuickBooks, see importing into QuickBooks. Other Canadian banks are on the Canadian banks page.

Yes. BankConv reads the table on the page, so French headings such as Retrait and Dépôt convert the same way as English ones. Check that comma-decimal amounts came out as numbers in your spreadsheet.

Can I download Desjardins statements from the mobile app?

You can view statements in the app, but Desjardins says downloading and printing need AccèsD on a web browser.

How far back can I get Desjardins statements?

Desjardins keeps online account statements retrievable for 7 years. Download the PDFs for the months you need and convert up to 10 at a time.

Do I need to share my AccèsD password?

No. You download the PDF yourself and upload it. BankConv never connects to your bank and never asks for your banking password.
