Convert Chase statements to Excel or CSV

Download the PDF statement from chase.com (Statements & documents), drop it into BankConv, and you get every transaction as rows of date, description, amount and balance in Excel, CSV or Google Sheets. For only the last few months, Chase's own activity download may be enough; for older months, the PDF statement is the only source.

Download your Chase statement

  1. 1.Sign in at chase.com or in the Chase app.
  2. 2.Open the account, then choose Statements & documents.
  3. 3.Pick the year and the statement month, then download the PDF.
  4. 4.Repeat for each month you need.

Do you need to convert at all?

Chase lets you download recent account activity from the activity page as a spreadsheet or a Quicken or QuickBooks file.

Only recent activity is offered. Older periods exist only as PDF statements under Statements & documents.

What to know about Chase PDFs

Business statements group by type, not by date
Chase business checking statements list transactions in sections (Deposits and Additions, Checks Paid, Electronic Withdrawals, Fees) and give a Daily Ending Balance table instead of a running balance. Expect rows grouped the same way, and sort by date in your spreadsheet if you need one chronological list.
Dates print without a year
Transaction lines show MM/DD only. The year comes from the statement period, so check rows near January 1 on a December–January statement.

Chase prints two kinds of checking statements, and they read differently.

Personal checking statements (Total Checking, Premier Plus and similar) have a Transaction Detail table: one line per transaction with a running balance. That converts cleanly to one row per line.

Business checking statements group transactions by type, with a separate Daily Ending Balance table. You still get every transaction as a row.

How to download Chase transactions as CSV

Chase’s own activity download gives you a CSV, but only for recent activity. For older months, the monthly PDF statement is the source, and you convert it.

  1. Recent activity: sign in at chase.com on a computer, open the account and look for the download icon above the transaction list. Choose the spreadsheet (CSV) format and a date range.
  2. Older months: open Statements & documents, download the PDF for each month, and upload them to BankConv, up to 10 at a time.
  3. Check the rows, then export Excel or CSV.

Use the PDF route as well when an accountant or lender asks for full statements. The statement carries the opening and closing balances, which the activity download doesn’t.

What to check after converting

Chase prints enough totals to confirm the result yourself. Check these before you import anything:

  • Section totals: add up the Deposits and Additions rows and the Electronic Withdrawals rows, and compare each total with the matching line in the Checking Summary on page one.
  • Daily Ending Balance: on business statements, pick two or three dates and confirm the balance after that day’s transactions matches the Daily Ending Balance table.
  • Row count: count the rows in each section and compare them with the PDF, especially on long statements with page breaks.
  • Year: confirm the year on rows near January 1 on a December–January statement.

Statements longer than a few pages are common for busy business accounts. Your first 5 pages convert free, so you can check the result before you pay for the rest; see pricing for larger volumes. To bring the rows into QuickBooks, see importing into QuickBooks.

How we handle your data

Chase statement questions

How far back can I get Chase transactions?

Chase's activity download covers recent transactions only. For anything older, download the monthly PDF statements under Statements & documents and convert those.

Do I need a Chase login to use BankConv?

No. You download the PDF yourself and upload it. BankConv never connects to your Chase account and never asks for your banking password.

Can I download Chase statements as CSV or Excel?

Not as statements. Chase's activity download gives recent transactions as CSV, but monthly statements are PDF only. Convert the PDFs in BankConv to get older months as CSV or Excel.

Why are my Chase business transactions out of date order?

Business checking statements group transactions by type, such as Deposits and Additions and Electronic Withdrawals. Sort the date column in your spreadsheet for one chronological list.

How do I check that a converted Chase statement is complete?

Total each section and compare it with the Checking Summary on page one, then compare the row count with the PDF. On business statements, match a few dates against the Daily Ending Balance table.
